Be Be Bong Bong - Children's Book Exhibition

The "BẾ BẾ BỒNG BỒNG" children's book exhibition, focusing on gender and child care within the realm of children's literature is one of the initiatives supported by ECUE-VGEM under the Investing in Women initiative by the Australian Government.

The children's book space offers a wealth of intriguing historical, social, and cultural observations about gender, particularly regarding gender representation in stories and illustrations. This can inspire parents and educators to engage in open and meaningful discussions with children during reading time, while also serving as a valuable resource for those studying gender representation in children's literature.

By curating and presenting 20 children's books on this theme across three aesthetically and educationally enriching display areas, the Initiative of Children's Book Creative Content (ICBC) hopes that the "BẾ BẾ BỒNG BỒNG" exhibition will create a safe space for exploring diverse gender identities and roles in caregiving through the lens of children's literature.

The exhibition also aims to inspire diverse and open perspectives within the community, fostering engaging interactive experiences (workshops, art tours, performances, etc.) based on the 20 picture books designed for children and families with kids aged 0-12. Special attention is given to those interested in education about gender, as well as child care within families, schools, and the community.

The exhibition is officially open for free visits (with prior registration) from October 19 to November 3, 2024.
