Event Series for the “The Friendship” Book Collection

Friendship can begin with the smallest things in common:

Perhaps because we live in the same apartment block,

Share a love for the same city,

Or simply hold precious feelings of care and affection for one another.

From these ideas, a series of picture books about friendship was born: Chúng mình là bạn, We Are Friends, Mỗi tháng tặng cậu một bài thơ, and Hà Nội của tớ - My Hanoi. The emergence of these picture books, created by Vietnamese authors and illustrators, has contributed fresh new colors to the vibrant and flourishing landscape of Vietnamese picture books.

To introduce the “The Friendship” collection to a wider audience, Kim Dong Publishing House, in collaboration with ICBC, organizes a special introduction week from December 20, 2025 to December 28, 2025. The program features an ongoing showcase alongside reading sessions and workshops with participating authors, helping bring these works closer to young Vietnamese readers.

The “The Friendship” themed collection, launched gradually since early October this year, brings young Vietnamese readers a series of simple yet profound picture books, beautifully illustrated with great care and creativity. Created by Vietnamese authors and illustrators, the collection presents fresh and unique explorations of the theme of friendship.

These books are also the first publications of the “Magical S Bookshelf” project, jointly developed by Kim Dong Publishing House and The Initiative of Children’s Book Creative Content (ICBC), with the goal of encouraging the creation of Vietnamese children’s picture books across a wide range of themes by local authors and illustrators. Under the theme “The Friendship,” the first four titles introduced to readers are: Chúng mình là bạn, We Are Friends, Mỗi tháng tặng cậu một bài thơ, and Hà Nội của tớ - My Hanoi.
